Freezing Passion Fruit

Passion Fruit Vinaigrette

Passion Fruit Vinaigrette

  • Passion fruit are very durable in the freezer.  When we have excess fruit, we drop the whole fruit pieces into bags and place in freezer.  
  • When ready to extract the pulp, take the fruit out of the freezer, allow to thaw about 1/2 hour in order to cut.
  • Cut the top off of the passion fruit pieces.
  • Extract the pulp using a grapefruit spoon.
  • Use a slow masticating juicer to get a wonderful puree without seeds (optional).  
  • Enjoy!

Passion Fruit Vinaigrette

1/4 cup Passion fruit puree

1/4 cup avocado oil

1 TBSP honey

1 tsp Dijon mustard

Salt and white pepper to taste.


  • Mix all ingredients in a mason jar with the top securely on.  
  • Shake well.
  • Enjoy!


This vinaigrette is wonderful on a salad with mixed greens, drained mandarin oranges, grilled chicken, and cranberries with candied pecans.

1 Can sweetened condensed milk

5 egg yolks

3/4 cup passion fruit puree

One graham cracker pie crust


  • Blend condensed milk, egg yolks, and puree
  • Pour mixture into the pie crust
  • Bake 15 375 degrees for 20 minutes
  • Cool completely
  • Refrigerate for 24 hours
  • Serve with fresh whipped cream

  • Add a teaspoon of passion fruit puree or pulp to your water for refreshing taste
  • Juice/tea
  • Ice Cream
  • Cheesecake
  • Cookie bars (lemon bar recipe with passion fruit puree instead)
  • Use the pulp on your yogurt or ice cream
  • Trifle dessert
  • Use in marinades for shrimp and chicken
